Croatia has a Mediterranean climate along the coast — warm, dry summers and mild winters — while the interior is more continental, with cold winters and warm, thundery summers. July and August bring the greatest heat and the heaviest tourist crowds; spring and autumn offer more comfortable temperatures, fewer visitors and a quieter, more authentic atmosphere.
