Ghana's climate changes depending on the region and the time of year. The dry season (November to March) brings warm, clear conditions ideal for travel, while the wet seasons (April to June and September to October) bring heavier rainfall, particularly in the south. The Ghanaian Cedi is the local currency; it is advisable to carry some cash for everyday purchases and tips, though larger hotels and lodges in Accra and along the tourist circuit accept major credit cards. Bottled water is recommended throughout your trip. Tipping is customary for guides, drivers and lodge staff but is entirely at your discretion. There are currently no FCDO warnings against travel to the regions visited on our Ghana tours, and we monitor official advice closely and inform clients if anything changes.
